In many cases you should see your deposit same day, otherwise your deposit will arrive in your bank account within 1-3 business days.
If your deposit has not arrived after 3 business days, please contact Support.
You don’t have to link your bank account to send or receive digital cash payments. However, if you wish to load your card or deposit your balance back to your bank linking your bank is required. Go to Connected Accounts in the Menu.
We currently support the following financial institutions through Flinks.
Verified MoneyClip merchants accept digital cash payments as an alternative to debit, credit, and cash. Digital Cash payments using MoneyClip are cash-like. We do not mediate or reverse transactions between you and a verified merchant. However, we want to ensure that we work with reputable businesses. If you would like to notify us or make a complaint about one of our verified merchants, please contact us.
We build MoneyClip on a blockchain to give digital cash many of the characteristics of paper money. Just like paper money, the digital cash in your phone cannot be accessed by anyone but you. Because of this, transactions are similar to cash. They can only be reversed or refunded by the bearer.
MoneyClip wallets are limited to holding $2,000 at a given time. When you first link your bank account, your load limit is $250 and weekly rolling limit is $1,000.
Your digital cash is stored in your phone and protected by security features built into its operating system. Even if someone else finds your phone they will not be able to access your funds unless they can unlock your phone.
Since digital cash is encrypted in your phone, if you break your phone it can only be recovered using the Restoration feature. The restoration feature can only be used if the Restoration Setup was completed prior to losing or breaking your phone.
You can start the Restoration Setup from the menu of your MoneyClip app. You will need to verify your email address and create and safekeep a secret password. Both of these are important for you to be able to restore your digital cash if you lose or break your phone.
Usernames allow you to remotely send money to someone who is not in your phone’s contact list. Since digital cash payments are like cash (they can’t be reversed) we have incorporated Public PINs to ensure you’re sending money to the correct username. No one can send you money unless you share the Public PIN. You can set your Username and Public PIN in the menu. Do not use a Public PIN that is common or the same as the PINs you use for banking transactions.
This list consists of contacts in your phone who also have the MoneyClip app. If your contact doesn’t have MoneyClip, easily invite them from the invite button on the top right of the screen.
Digital cash can only be sent to smartphones, so the contact list only consists of phone numbers listed as “Mobile” or “iPhone” in your contacts. If you know your contact has MoneyClip, check the device type in your phone’s contacts.
If you receive a payment request or a payment from someone that you don't know, please report suspicious activity to us.
Trusted Friends are personal contacts who have the MoneyClip app and can help you restore your funds if you ever lose your phone and your secret restoration password. Trusted Friends help by storing a small encrypted piece of your secret password in their MoneyClip to send back to your phone if you forgot your password. All they have to do is keep the MoneyClip app on their phone and click “Help restore my friends MoneyClip” from the menu if you ask for their help.
If you’re friend deleted the app or you’re worried they won’t come through in the clutch, you can add or remove people from your Trusted Friend list at any time from the menu.
Trusted Friends never have access to your money. The cryptography we use behind the scenes ensures that even if they knew the data they were keeping safe for you, they could not use it against you or collaborate with others to access your funds.
Thanks! We’ll text you when we’re in the app store.
